Resonant Collaboration is hosting a one-day conference in Birmingham about safeguarding with young people who are questioning, leaving or changing faith.

What’s the issue? Faith and non-faith beliefs matter to many young people, offering meaning, belonging, and community. But, when young people question, leave, change, find or depend their faith, they can face harms from family rejection, mental distress, shunning, coercive control, conversion practices, homelessness and more. Young people, families and communities also face harm from stereotypes, bias, and racism.

About the conference: brings together practitioners, researchers, faith leaders, specialist support organisations, and young people to understand the issues, and to explore what joined-up support could look like.

Who should come: youth workers, social workers, faith leaders, health professionals, housing workers, community workers, researchers, and policy makers.
